So this is it: my last shave before the trip.

Due to workplace requirements to be clean shaven at all times, I have been unable to grow any facial hair for the last few years.

On top of that I have always wanted to grow a fully-fledged beard at least once in my life. The time has come.

Will it be bushranger chic or a blight on my face? Time will tell. One colleague suggested I was going to become a Ginger Jihadi...
